SewNordic is here

SewNordic Day One

Today was the big day. First day of SewNordic. The reason why I travelled 16,000km to Oslo has arrived.

How did I get here?

Well, obviously I caught a plane for way too long halfway around the earth. Arriving in Stockholm about 10 days ago. I travelled to Northern Sweden, Abisko, onto Narvik, Svolvær and Bodø. Before arriving in Oslo yesterday.
How I really got here was I saw Johanna Lundström mention on her YouTube channel, The Last Stitch, that she would be teaching here. Originally I thought it might be a bit silly to fly across the world for 2days of sewing. Then some things in my life changed, namely, things ended with my fiancé. So I decided that I needed to do something for me. So here I am in Oslo at SewNordic. Surrounded by wonderful like-minded people. All here to make amazing things and learn new stuff.

What is SewNordic?

SewNordic is a 2-day sewing event. This is its first year. Hosted by Scandinavian Home Products. There is a variety of classes to choose from and everything included. So no sewing machine required. They have a range of Janome, Elna and Babylock. Yippee

What class did I do today?

Today I did a sports top class with Youtube superhero, Johanna Lundström. We got to use overlockers, 4 thread, and a coverstitch machine. There was this amazing attachment for the coverstitch. It is a binding attachment. I got carried away and did the neck and the cuffs with it. I also used the coverstitch to do the heam. I made a long sleeve t-shirt in a black 4-way stretch with grey binding. It turned out pretty well I may even wear it tomorrow. Hehehe.

Tonight & Tomorrow

Tonight is the big dinner, fashion show and party. I will be fun to hang out with my new friends.
Tomorrow I am doing a dressmaking class with Marie Elvik.
